Welcome to Salem Lutheran Church

Salem Lutheran Church of Sycamore, IL is a friendly, vibrant congregation of the Northern Illinois Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America with the goal of Living Christ’s Love.  Browse our worship, education, and outreach ministries, participate in worship or visit one of our programs, and see if Salem is the community of faith for you or your family.

Birthed in 1870 by a small group of Swedish immigrants, Salem celebrates 147 years in 2017 and offers its facility at 1145 DeKalb Ave as a center for worship and mission.   Blessed by the gifts of many, many people of faith, Salem continues to teach, serve, and celebrate God’s gift of grace in the person of Jesus Christ, and all are welcome.

Study of the Book of Revelation Starts Thursday, October 26

Do you need help believing God’s goodness is winning the battle with evil?  Then join us Thursdays, starting October 26, as we study the fascinating Word of God in the Book of Revelation.

Yes, Revelation is a book of hope and encouragement, not of fear of the future.  Yes it discloses wonderful truths, and it does not hide things in a cloud of obscurity.  See how the book boldly tells us that this world belongs to the loving Lamb of God, and encourages us to live our faith every day.

We will make a full course outline/guide available in a PDF file for free, and take orders for an optional full transcript book of the fabulous DVD we will use for the course, selling for $13.50 each.

The class will run for 12 Thursdays, skipping days for Thanksgiving and Christmas, and ending January 25.  The more classes you attend the greater your learning, but if you miss sessions you can use the course guide or transcript book to keep up.  We encourage people  to attend, even if they are pressed for time and come late or leave early.  But we will start on time and fill each session with great stuff, so please do try to be prompt if you can!

Bring your brown bag lunch, and your mind brimming with questions, and get ready to grow in your faith!  You can contact the teacher,  Pastor John Seraphine, with any questions at 815-895-9736 or heatherhopefarm@gmail.com.

All sessions will be in Chapel Lounge.
