Confirmation Ministry

Confirmation Ministry is a partnership between Confirmation leaders, parents, and baptismal sponsors in which we seek to help students grow in their faith. Salem’s Confirmation program is designed to prepare our young people to say “yes” to the promises made for them in their Baptism. The expectations of those participating in this program include: regular worship attendance, participation in Confirmation class, retreat/camp experiences, as well as service opportunities.

The summer after their 8th grade school year students are expected to attend Confirmation Camp. This experience is the culmination of the program and a chance for them to spend some time living their faith. Confirmation meets weekly at 6:30 p.m., Wednesdays during the school year. Youth activities are on-going year round.

Enrollment typically happens at the beginning of 6th grade. The program culminates with the Rite of Affirmation of Baptism during a worship service in the fall of 9th grade.
