Salem has weekly services Saturdays at 5:00 p.m. and Sundays at 9:30 a.m. Additional worship services are added for holidays and during Advent and Lent.
About 200 people gather for worship each weekend. Over 50 Sunday School students and 30 Confirmation youth meet weekly for Christian Education, and 55 youth and adults rehearse each week in Choir, Puppets, and Bells. Forty volunteers staff Salem Food Pantry which serves over 12,000 DeKalb County residents. Many more members share their time and talents as leaders in Salem ministry teams. Salem has over 1,600 baptized members and a confirmed membership of over 600.
Guests and visitors are welcome to participate in all worship services and activities.
Holy Communion is central to our worship and is celebrated at all services. All who are baptized and trust that Christ’s body and blood are truly present are invited to commune. The first weekend of the month and at special services, communion is shared at the altar rail.
Most often, communion is shared by intinction in the aisle.
Communion instruction for our children 3 years old and older will take place each spring (Lent) at which time there will be age appropriate education involving early communion for four weeks during Sunday Education hour. There will also be a family cross-generational event after which parents and children will discern when their child(ren) will be receiving Holy Communion. If you have any questions please contact Salem's Pastor.
