Vacation Bible School
VBS is for children from kids entering Kindergarten through 5th grade.
Middle and high school youth are encouraged to participate as crew leaders, station assistants, and song leaders.
Goals for Vacation Bible School include:
• sharing the word of God with children
• developing the interest of children to study the Word of God
• sharing fun activities in building Christian relationships
A Monumental Thank You!
Monumental VBS was a huge success this year. We welcomed 26 kids from both Salem and the community. These kids learned Bible stories, sang praise to God, played games, did experiments and so much more. This would not have been possible without the help of so many incredible volunteers. Special thanks to the Station Teachers Jen Docherty, Sarah Baker, Tammy Riebe, Michelle Mangini, Heather Jackson, and Pat Ingersoll and Station Assistants Quin Doty, Linda Linden, and Steve Latimer. Thanks also to our fabulous group of crew leaders Lila Ezell, Sabrina Ezell, Krista Cobb, Molly Allison, Cece Jackson, Beckett Jackson, Kamden Johnson, Jack Mangini, Max Mangini, Gus Riebe, Jelina Martinez, and Claire Eifel. Lila Ezell, Krista Cobb, and Kathy Cain were amazing puppeteers. Denny and Wanda Sabin purchased all the snacks for the week and Gretchen Sprinkle, Steve Latimer, Mary Stafford, Linda Linden, Jen Eifel, and Eroica Young who baked or donated cookies. Special thanks to Sue Herrmann who single handedly planned a fantastic ice cream social. Thanks to Rita Johnson (next year’s director) who provided a fresh perspective and some great ideas! And finally thanks to the decorating crew that turned Fellowship Hall into a dessert, the Jackson Family, the Baker Family, the Johnson Family, Quin Doty, Jelina and Alex Martinez, Linda Linden, and Chris Judkins. You all are amazing!
Vacation Bible School started Monday. Here are some pictures of how Fellowship Hall was decorated for the theme of desert.
“Joseph” told the story of what she knew about Joseph and his coat of many colors at VBS on the first day.
